#TravelsWithOllie: January Group Hike
January 14, 2018
Planning a hiking trip in the middle of winter can be tricky. One day will be 60 degrees and the next will be 30 with howling winds. This was the case for our first Group Hike of the year. But nevertheless, we persisted.
Three brave souls joined Ollie and I for a loop around the Manassas National Battlefield Park Saturday morning. It was bitterly cold but thankfully, the sun decided to join us. Ollie was grumpy because I made him wear his coat but our guests were super fun. Pepper, Lila and Ollie #2 – all nearing a year old – didn't seem phased by the wind, the cold or my grumpy Boston Terrier.
Despite the cold, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We shared dog stories and met our step requirements for the day. The next hike will be a DC Monument circuit on February 18th. Sign up on our Facebook page if you'd like to join! I hope to see you next month!
